1024 Global Developer Festival held in Hefei, China.

The Fifth World Voice Expo & 2022 iFLYTEK 1024 Global Developer Festival Successfully Concluded

On the morning of November 18, the Fifth World Voice Expo and 2022 iFLYTEK 1024 Global Developer Festival was held in Hefei. The wide array of topics included technological innovation at the source, the upgrade of platform products, achieving digital transformation, and designing AI to meet critical societal needs. Liu Qingfeng, Chairman of iFLYTEK, opened the 1024 Global Developer Festival by reflecting on how the digital economy has served as the key driving force for global economic recovery, with AI as the core engine. iFLYTEK has experienced growth that aligns with the globally expanding digital economy. In 2021, the total number of AI calls made through the iFLYTEK Open Platform increased by 36%.

This year’s AI Developer Competition hosted 32,333 participating teams, including 10,605 competing in the field of Industrial Internet and 1,268 in Virtual Reality and Metaverse. Data shows that as Virtual Reality, Industrial Internet, and the Metaverse are on the rise, Gen- Z is center-stage in the development of AI.

At the 1024 Developer Festival, Liu Qingfeng reiterated the goal of iFLYTEK Super Brain 2030 in providing robots that are “knowledgeable, good at learning, and capable of planning” to every household. iFLYTEK has made breakthroughs in four key technologies—multi-modal perception, deep understanding, multi-dimensional expression, and motion intelligence—while continuously expanding in fields such as education, healthcare, the Metaverse, and robotics. Liu further announced that iFLYTEK will soon release the Robot Super Brain Platform to enable greater human-computer collaboration through the integration of multi-modal interaction, motion control, and hardware modules.

During the festival, the iFLYTEK Open Platform 2.0 was officially released. iFLYTEK President Wu Xiaoru shared the latest progress of Open Platform 2.0 from the perspective of technological innovation and industrial application.

The Open Platform currently has a total of 513 open capabilities and has gathered 3.7 million developers. The 2.0 strategy has now been applied in 14 sectors including education, finance, healthcare, energy, and real estate. Strategic partnerships have been fostered with dozens of leading enterprises, which have already had an extensive impact on the ecosystem.

iFLYTEK has seen success with the following industry partnerships:

  • The industrial sector with Lingyang to build the Lingyang Industrial Internet Platform, which helps with digitization and intelligent upgrading of industrial enterprises;
  • The education sector with leading organizations including the People’s Education Press, East China Normal University, and Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group to promote targeted teaching, well-rounded development, and high-quality courses;
  • The finance sector with industry leaders such as China Construction Bank, China Mobile, and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank to facilitate precision marketing and intelligent customer service.

In the future, iFLYTEK will look to upgrade the Open Platform by providing stronger AI capabilities for the real and virtual economies and enable industrial knowledge-sharing more efficiently. Additionally, the company will work to promote the use of AI tools in human-machine collaboration to ensure convenience, privacy, and data security in the use of AI.

At the iFLYTEK Open Platform 2.0 strategy release, Wu Xiaoru talked about the development of the iFLYTEK AI virtual human interaction platform. Characterized by multi-modal perception, multi-dimensional expression, emotion, and self-definition, this platform has been applied to a variety of applications in media, finance, culture, tourism, government, and business settings to provide intelligent customer service for thousands of users.

Gao Jianqing, the Vice President of iFLYTEK AI Research Institute, shared a series of technological breakthroughs made by iFLYTEK as part of Super Brain 2030. iFLYTEK has enhanced its basic AI algorithms in the areas of deep learning; multi-modal perception of speech, emotion, and environment for complex scenarios. The company has also made substantial progress on key cognitive intelligence such as deep comprehension, active dialogue, and controllable dialogue generation.

The iFLYTEK Super Brain 2030 project has achieved great results since its launch. Leveraging multi-modal interaction and medical cognition technology, iFLYTEK developed a quantitative screening system for depression that increases diagnostic accuracy from 75% to 91%. In the future, based on quantitative screening technology, iFLYTEK will build a depression screening platform for use in schools to safeguard teenagers’ mental health.

iFLYTEK has made breakthroughs in core technologies related to machine translation, multilingual service, graphic images, healthcare, education, and more. For example, multilingual services have seen improvements in speech recognition rates by 20% on average. Meanwhile, the work of R&D has been completed in voice messages to text, speech synthesis, and machine translation services for 60 languages. A collection of professional virtual characters will be established covering customer service, recruitment, services, legal aid, and general assistant whose professional knowledge can be customized and evolve continuously. iFLYTEK has also built a highly immersive human-computer interaction system for the future Metaverse.

Yu Jidong, President of the Consumer Business Group of iFLYTEK, said that the iFLYTEK Open Platform has been upgraded to further empower human-computer collaboration. One of the highlights is the robot super brain AIBOT. With multi-modal interaction, deep understanding, motion control, and hardware modules, AIBOT helps developers enable robotic motion in a short period of time.

The upgraded version of iFLYTEK Open Platform has been applied in both physical robotics and virtual digital characters. iFLYTEK worked with Unitree Robotics to launch a quadruped robot capable of industrial inspection, such as outdoor and chemical inspection. iFLYTEK also introduced a flexible manipulator with partner ROKAE, which has made human-machine collaboration safer for both industrial inspection and commercial service. Digital robots help companies build new collaboration models to further tap into the assets of virtual characters. Xingzhou, iFLYTEK’s Digital Collection platform, provides customers with interactive digital assets.

To enable equitable access to AI, iFLYTEK has launched the Developer Lighthouse Project. Targeted at developers in the fields of technology, business, and innovation, this project empowers various industry scenarios and technologies, provides brand endorsement, and enables laboratory cooperation to create a diverse and prosperous developers’ ecosystem with shared benefits for all.

iFLYTEK has stayed true to our original mission of “building a better world with AI”, and is committed to fulfilling critical needs, focusing on creating value and promoting social progress. In the future, iFLYTEK will continue to work with our partners and the millions of developers who engage with our open platforms to make new breakthroughs, boost the high-quality development of the digital economy with machine learning solutions, and usher in a new digital era.
