iFLYTEK’s advanced AI products and services were featured in a recent China Central Television (CCTV) report about the critical role of AI in China’s new infrastructure campaign. AI plays an increasingly important role in our daily lives and in industrial production in China, and iFLYTEK is proud to contribute to improving our communities.
A key element of iFLYTEK’s contribution to national infrastructure are the suite of 5G-enabled smart telecommunication tools, which were also deployed during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. iFLYTEK, as the official translation service provider for the Olympic Games, enabled athletes, coaches, volunteers, and technical officials to smoothly communicate with each other using our smart translator and other tools. Video calls among Olympic organizers and participants, for example, were equipped with automatic speech transcription and translation services without having to change their phones or download an additional app.
Liu Pingping, research director of iFLYTEK’s smart telecommunications business, recently demonstrated the various functions of the smart video call solution.
“When the user says ‘thank you’, a bouquet will emerge on the interface; when users talk about the weather, weather forecasts will pop up on the screen; and when users inquire about recent matches, video clips of the event will be shown…” Liu said. Based on iFLYTEK’s semantic understanding technology, the solution can identify the key information and accordingly recommend relevant services, Liu said.
iFLYTEK’s smart service solution is supported by the company’s cutting-edge cognitive intelligence technologies that enable automatic transcription and translation between Mandarin and more than 70 languages and 28 dialects. Wang Shijin, vice president of iFLYTEK Academy, revealed in the CCTV report that iFLYTEK’s speech translation technology has reached an accuracy of 95%, ensuring “good understanding” and “fast translation” for multi-lingual communication.
iFLYTEK hopes that, in cooperation with telecommunication operators, it can further combine its multilingual translation technologies with 5G technology to achieve broader applications of its advanced AI solutions.
The CCTV report also noted that iFLYTEK’s AI solutions have transformed traditional industries in China. For example, at the 220 KV Jinxiu Substation in Hefei, Anhui Province, workers use iFLYTEK acoustic imaging devices to monitor ultrasonic waves (sound waves that are too high for humans to hear). By observing the images presented on the device, they can determine if wires are working properly or are in need of repair.
