iFLYTEK recently launched the 2022 AI Developer Competition in celebration of the company’s 23rd anniversary. iFLYTEK Chairman Liu Qingfeng announced the beginning of the games as a way to provide technological and entrepreneurial resources to creative developers and foster the introduction of engineers and researchers into the industry.
Over the past 23 years, iFLYTEK has continuously developed its capabilities. Originally focusing on speech synthesis, iFLYTEK soon became a leader in speech recognition and semantic understanding. The company has also greatly increased its ability to translate languages, beginning with Chinese to English services to eventually offer multi-lingual capabilities. Additionally, iFLYTEK has made extraordinary progress in making machines understand and think.
iFLYTEK has made innovation a core tenant of its philosophy and looks to breakthroughs in AI technologies to address societal needs and facilitate economic growth. Back in 2017, the company began the large-scale application of its AI technologies through the iFLYTEK Open Platform and other coordinated business activities in various industries.
The first iFLYTEK AI Developer Competition was held in 2018 to identify and promote AI talent for furthering social development. iFLYTEK has continued to gather AI researchers, developers, and entrepreneurs from around the world for the past four years to promote the translation of cutting-edge AI technologies, cultivate AI talents, and promote the building of a competitive AI industry.
Additionally, iFLYTEK jointly established the Ling Yang Industrial Internet Platform in September of 2021. The platform has since gathered nearly 57,000 enterprises and fostered more than 40,000 applications. The service has played an increasingly important role in promoting the synergy between industry, academia, and research, reducing costs and improving the efficiency of small and medium-sized enterprises and their digital transformations.
Based on the platform, the 2022 iFLYTEK AI Developer Competition will have 45 challenges in the industrial internet area, such as voice activation technology for vehicles, scenario recognition capacity of smart appliances, bionic quadruped robots for industrial production, and AI-supported industrial data analysis.
The 2022 iFLYTEK AI Developer Competition will have 108 competition tracks in total and will focus on core AI technologies like speech and vision technologies, natural language, and image recognition, while also covering areas such as the metaverse, agriculture, environmental protection, and e-commerce.
More than 50 start-up incubators including iFLYTEK Venture Capital, IDG, Sequoia Capital, and China Merchants Venture Capital have paid continued attention to the 2022 event.
Outstanding participants at the 2022 iFLYTEK AI Developer Competition will gain comprehensive assistance from experts in several fields. These participants are expected to jointly build an industry consisting of a production chain, supply chain, innovation chain, capital chain, talent chain, and policy chain.
