iFLYTEK and Beijing Diplomatic Service Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

On February 23, iFLYTEK’s Senior Vice President and CFO Duan Dawei and the Beijing Service Bureau for Diplomatic Missions (BDS) Deputy Director General Gao Yu signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing to better serve foreign diplomatic missions through implementing AI into the diplomatic service’s daily tasks.

Li Li, Director General of the BDS and Wu Xiaoru, Co-Founder and President of iFLYTEK both delivered a speech at the signing ceremony. Other representatives, including Peng Shenfu, Tan Lugang, Liu Yong, Zuo Peng of the BDS and Wang Wei, Zhai Kun, Luo Wei, and Fang Xuzhong of iFLYTEK also attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing of the agreement.

Li discussed the 60-year history of the BDS at the event and stressed the necessity of new and innovative technology in new development strategies, especially the important role of digital technology in helping diplomatic services in China embrace broader prospects of development. He also expressed hope that through strategic cooperation with iFLYTEK, the two sides will achieve synergy and realize common development.

iFLYTEK’s President Wu Xiaoru recognized the BDS as a “hero behind the scenes” and applauded its important role in advancing diplomatic relations between Chin and the wider world. In aiding the mission of BDS, he said that iFLYTEK would apply its artificial intelligence technologies to the daily work of the BDS and the various services it provides to better assist foreign diplomatic missions and further build stronger bridges between China and the world.

As contracted in the agreement, the two sides will, in line with the principle of complementarity, equality, and mutual benefit and common development, cooperate in areas including diplomatic mission services, smart facility development, enterprise digital transformation, and conference and exhibition services by building off each other’s strengths in resource and technology.

The BDS has served more than 400 foreign missions in China, including foreign embassies and offices of international organizations in the country as well as foreign journalists in Beijing. Over the past few decades, it has been enhancing and expanding its services to cover multiple sub-areas including engineering and construction, housing leasing services, human resources, culture and education, commodity trade, accommodation and catering, property management, and car rental.

iFLYTEK, a well-known listed company in intelligent speech and artificial intelligence in the Asia-Pacific region, has made use of its outstanding technological capacity to apply its products and solutions to various fields such as education, medical care, law service and smart city development, in addition to areas of national strategic importance like cultural diffusion.
